Hendri is our farmer from the beautiful little town Riebeek Kasteel in the Swartland, Western Cape.
Hendri lost his father at very young age. Hendri's passion is fuelled by the promise his mother made to his father that the family farm will always be kept in the family.
Hendri is one of 4 children and the 5th generation on the Delafontein farm.
Hendri's mother and eldest brother, Pieter started the meat business 27 years ago in their homestead farm kitchen. They sold their meat products out of a Coleman cooler box from their farm "bakkie". Today , after 27 years , the Truter family is still very actively involved on the farm and butchery to ensure that they share their love of their meat to all families across South Africa.
Even though they continuously growing their business, their foundation and values remain unchanged – and their business is, was and always will be rooted in a passion for family, people, animals, farming and meat.
